An ‘Unimpeachable’ Winner: Red Brick Wins Twenty-five American Advertising Awards
Creative agency Red Brick Strategies may need a bigger trophy case. Red Brick was the recipient of twenty-five American Advertising Awards, including best of show honors, at the 2017 American Advertising Federation of North Alabama (AAFNA) American Advertising Awards event.
Red Brick was awarded best of show honors for its work with Huntsville’s Salty Nut Brewery and their Unimpeachable Pale Ale marketing campaign. Red Brick has now received best of show honors at the 2013, 2015 and 2016 events.
The Unimpeachable Pale Ale campaign combined Alabama’s colorful political climate and the adoption of Alabama’s new “Growler Law.” The campaign created national buzz for the upstart brewery, including coverage from Adweek and Food & Wine. Including the national media coverage and social media buzz the campaign had an estimated reach of 4.25 million with nearly 3 million readers and thousands of social media shares.

Red Brick’s work was recognized with twenty-five total awards including nine gold awards in categories including consumer website, logo design, illustration, packaging, guerrilla marketing, and more.
The AAFNA American Advertising Awards were held on Friday, February 17 at the historic Princess Theater in downtown Decatur, Alabama.
Red Brick received twenty-five of thirty-nine awards presented.
“It’s an honor to have our work recognized by our peers,” said Trent Willis, Red Brick’s founder and CEO. “We have built a first-class team, and I am proud to see their work recognized.”
Now in its fourth year, Red Brick Strategies has established itself as one of the region’s elite advertising agencies. Red Brick has now received fifty American Advertising Awards including best of show honors in three of the past four years.
“Creativity doesn’t need to be outsourced,” added Willis. “It exists here in North Alabama both at Red Brick and many of the other agencies in our region.”
“We’re working every day to improve our work and push our industry to do the same. Our industry has some remarkable talent and we want to congratulate the other winners and thank the AAFNA for the opportunity.”
The American Advertising Awards, formerly the ADDYs, is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting over 40,000 entries every year in local AAF Club (Ad Club) competitions. Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the local Ad Club phase is the first of a three-tier, national competition. The mission of the American Advertising Awards competition is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising.
