Andrew wakes up every morning in celebration.
You see, a long, long time ago, a wise monk told him that midi-chlorians live in our cells. Without them, life would not exist, and that we would have no knowledge of the Force.
Thankfully, thanks to present day and modern medicine, Andrew now lives midi-chlorian free. The paper where that monk read that information was published before being properly vetted by a jury of his peers. Turns out there is no truth that linked a midi-chlorian infection and Force sensitivity.
A fine reason to celebrate.
Andrew is Red Brick’s new Designer and expectation was that he was going to design. Things. We don’t recall all the deets…we were just so ecstatic when we thought of it!
Andrew said he will be a designer at Red Brick, waved his hand and we couldn’t agree more!
He said we should hire him. We hired him immediately.
Andrew said he has the best ideas. We think Andrew has the best ideas. Andrew said he should work here. We were excited to have Andrew work here.
Andrew is busy studying for a BFA in Graphic Design at the Maryland Institute College of Art. He loves design. He’s always designing.
He mentioned a strong affinity toward Swiss style design. Grid based elements, clean and readable fonts. No extra useless bits; just focused, simple, objective design with a purpose. It’s the kind of design that can make the modern look retro, and vice versa.
We asked him what he thought of serif fonts, random ornate design, and frills just for the sake of frills.
He said he hated it. He found it coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.
Very wise, Andrew is.
We wondered how often he is designing and asked him what he may be doing during certain tasks throughout a typical day:
Brushing his teeth…probably designing
Taking a shower…probably designing
Eating a meal… probably designing
Sleeping… probably designing
Shopping on Amazon.com… probably designing and looking for new Star Wars Funko Pop figures
Sitting in class…probably playing Pokémon Sun and Moon
Watching original Star Wars trilogy…watching original Star Wars trilogy
Watching prequel Star Wars trilogy…he asked us to leave.
We asked if we could return, it was our office after all. Andrew requested we not try it, since he had the high ground. We apologized for the question, that it was our mistake.
He let us back in.
Besides design and Star Wars, Andrew has a love for gaming. He has dedicated much of his recent life to games developed by Bethesda, such as the Fallout series and Elder Scrolls: Skyrim.
In fact, he attributes Fallout 3 as the start of his passion for design.
For the uninitiated, Fallout 3 design aesthetic is imbued with the quality of a 1950s vision of the world of the future, from the in-game UI down all the way down to Pip Boy, a touchscreen computer you wear on your forearm.
Unfortunately, someone mentioned that Bethesda released a remastered version of Skyrim. He asked us to pay a good salary now but that he will not return for a few months.
We thought this was a great idea. It has now been a week, still waiting until he comes back to finish the interview. Even though we already hired him. We have the best ideas.
The Force is strong with this one. We want him to become powerful. We want him to seize UNLIMITED POWER. And join the misfits, who embrace his powers.
I mean…c’mon bro, do you even Sith?
